Raiders hit 4 homers to back Morgan's 5-inning no-hitter

The Three Rivers baseball team snapped an eight-game losing streak with a five-inning no-hitter Tuesday in the second of a doubleheader against State Fair.

The Raiders hit four home runs to back Mason Morgan in a 10-0 win after a late rally fell short in the opener.

Down by eight runs after three innings, the Raiders lost 11-8.

Three Rivers (19-22) bounced back with a four-run first inning and kept scoring.

Morgan didn't allow a hit against 19 batters, walking one, hitting one and striking out three for his second win of the season.

Lane Baremore, Kolton Poorman, Cade Cancilla and Mason Libla each went deep for the Raiders, who had 11 hits. Cancilla was 3 for 3, scoring twice and driving in a pair of runs while Baremore had three RBIs along with Hunter Gray, who tripled.

In the opener, Kyle Clayton drove in four runs with two hits, including a double. Gray also doubled, Poorman was 2 for 4 with a run while Baremore and Andrew Lara each had an RBI. Cancilla scored twice, going 1 for 2 with a pair of walks, while Nathan Browning and Stefan Turino each had a hit.

The Raiders travel Thursday to Mineral Area for the first of four games to end the regular season. Three Rivers hosts a doubleheader Saturday at Bobby Strenfel Field.
