Campbell senior Kaden Siebert signs to play baseball at Three Rivers

Three Rivers College has been on Campbell senior Kaden Siebert’s radar for quite some time.

“Three Rivers was always a school I thought about attending,” Siebert said. “It’s close to home and it’s nice to be close the first two years of college. Plus I think Coach Smith has the program headed in the right direction in his first year as head coach. They are getting new renovations to their field right now and I think it will be a great place to play baseball.”

Siebert signed to play baseball at the two-year school located in Poplar Bluff Monday.

“I’ve always loved baseball,” Siebert said. “I’ve played baseball and basketball in high school. But baseball has always been something I knew I wanted to play after high school.”

Siebert has spent time behind the plate and at first and third base in high school.

“I’ve primarily caught in high school,” he said. “But I’ve played corner infield a little bit and I’ve been working on learning to play the corner outfield positions in recent months. I’m trying to become a little more versatile so I can get out on the field a little more.”

Siebert compiled a .489 batting average with 18 RBIs in his most recent fall campaign at the high school level.

“He’s been one of our better hitters the last four years,” Campbell coach Joe Campbell said. “He’s a really smart kid that knows how to call a game behind the plate.”

Siebert said he is currently undecided on a major but looks forward to what the future holds.

“I’d like to thank God because he’s most important to me,” Siebert said. “I’d also like to thank my family, all my coaches, and all of my teammates for the help they’ve given me along the way.”
