PARK HILLS - After shooting over 50% in wins against John A. Logan on Wednesday and Highland (Ill.) on Friday, the Raiders shot 33.8% in a 72-68 overtime loss to Kennedy-King on Saturday in the Bob Sechrest Classic in Park Hills.
Three Rivers (4-3) controlled the game early but had point guard troubles in the second half.
Kevin Jones is currently out with a hand injury, and starting point guard Kinyon Hodges picked up his fourth foul a few minutes into the second half. Hodges returned with about 10 minutes left in the game but fouled out a few minutes later. In his absence, the Raiders tried multiple players at point guard.
For about the first 14 minutes, Three Rivers controlled the game.
"We were moving the ball and got inside a lot to Lydell Geffrard and then we were playing off of him," Three Rivers assistant coach Brian Bess said.
It got similar looks in the second half, but the shots stopped falling.
After coming off the bench and leading the Raiders in scoring against John A. Logan and Highland, Tallon Fonda cracked the starting lineup for the first time this season and finished with a double-double.
Fonda had 10 points and 12 rebounds, including five offensive rebounds, but was 3 for 14 shooting.
Lydell Geffrard had 11 points on 50% shooting and was a rebound away from a double-double.
Willie Lucas led the Raiders in scoring with 14 points after going 4 for 7 overall and 3 for 5 on 3-pointers. Dominique Hardimon got 12 points on 5 for 7 shooting and Hayden Spreknel had 11.
Isaac Anderson had 19 points to lead Kennedy-King (4-2), which shot 36.8% and 26.3% on 3-pointers. Rishard Balkcom and Latrell Williams both had 14 points. Balkcom also had 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Three Rivers was 9 for 30 on 3-pointers and 15 for 29 on free throws as they played their fifth game in eight days and their second during the stretch that went into overtime.
"We took them a little lightly, I think. We were playing really good," Bess said. "We didn't play very good."
The Raiders, though, don't play again until Nov. 22 when they will go to West Plains and play Neosho County and will play Cowley the following day.
