Hodges makes winner as Raiders beat Buffaloes in OT

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Three Rivers picked up its fourth straight win, and fourth straight win by less than 10 points.

The Raiders beat Arkansas Baptist 92-89 in overtime Tuesday, improving their record in games decided by 10 points or less to 9-4 and 6-1 dating back to Dec. 7.

The Raiders (14-8) were up by three late in regulation but Arkansas Baptist (6-8) was fouled on a long 3 and made all three free throws to force overtime.

After back and forth action, Kinyon Hodges made a 3 with 30 seconds left, and then the Raiders got a stop and the rebound to get coach Gene Bess his 1,995th win.

Hodges finished with 16 points to lead the Raiders, including seven of the team's 11 points in overtime. He finished 2 for 3 on 3-pointers and 6 for 8 overall to go with five assists, three rebounds and a pair of blocks.

Willie Lucas got 14 and Tallon Fonda had 12. Lydell Geffrard finished a free throw shy of a double-double for the second game in a row with nine points and 12 rebounds.

The Raiders have now won their past four games by an average of 5.25 points, including a pair of Region XVI road wins against State Fair and MSU-West Plains.

The Raiders next host Moberly Area on Saturday in their first home region game of the year.

The 20th ranked Greyhounds previously beat the Raiders 128-93 on Jan. 10.
