SEDALIA – The Three Rivers softball team split Tuesday's doubleheader at State Fair, losing the opener 8-7, but bounced back in the nightcap defeating the Roadrunners 14-4.
The Raiders trailed 6-2 going into the seventh, but they were able to rattle off five runs to go up by one. However the Roadrunners (10-26, 6-10 XVI) were able to walk it off in the home half of the seventh scoring two runs on back-to-back singles.
Karlye Happold and Jessica Hulsey both had two-RBI games for the Raiders while in the circle, Makale Floyd tossed five innings and was given a no-decision.
The Raiders' bats were on fire in the second game recording 16 hits in the contest.
Kyla Puckett drove in five RBIs with two home runs while Happold recorded four RBIs as she went 3-for-3 at the plate.
In the circle, Alyson Marcum picked up the win as she tossed five innings and struck out six.
The Raiders move to 27-7 overall and 12-4 against Region XVI opponents as they remain in second behind Jefferson College in the region standings. They'll be continuing region play with a twin bill against St. Charles at JD Rains Field on Thursday starting at 2 p.m.
