SEDALIA, Mo. — Three Rivers College softball hurlers A.J. Agers and Elly Eckrich pitched lake road warriors Saturday at State Fair.
Agers and Eckrich both won pitchers' duels as the Lady Raiders swept the hosts Lady Roadrunners, taking the opener 1-0 and then taking the nightcap 2-0.
Agers improved to 14-2 on the season in the opener, allowing just five hits, and one walk while striking out six as she shut out State Fair.
The game was scoreless after six innings, but TRC (22-7) scored the game's only run when Josie Bezzole singled home Audrey Rahlmann in the top of the seventh.
Lady Roadrunner pitcher Kennidi Harris was almost as brilliant in defeat, allowing just the one run while striking out five and walking nine while scattering seven hits over seven innings.
Bezzole's two hits paced the Lady Raiders.
It was a similar story in the nightcap, as Eckrich tossed a two-hit shutout, striking out seven while walking one to outduel State Fair's Grace VanDenburgh.
VanDenburgh held TRC to just six hits in the game, with Agers and Lexi Davis getting two apiece as each doubled and singled.
Davis and Ann-Marie Simpson scored both Three Rivers runs, while Agers had the game's lone RBI.
The Lady Raiders are slated to play at Missouri State-West Plains Tuesday to wrap up a six-game road swing before coming home Thursday to take on East Central.
