Dexter graduates earn postseason honors for Lady Raiders basketball

A pair of Dexter High School graduates received postseason honors while playing basketball at Three Rivers College.

Chaylea Mosby, a 2019 DHS graduate, was named first-team All-Region 16 and first-team All-Missouri Community College Athletic Conference.

Hannah Thurmon, a 2018 DHS graduate, made the All-Region 16 second team.

Mosby led the Lady Raiders with 71 steals — which ranked 69th nationally — and was the team’s most accurate free throw shooter, making 49 of 62 attempts (79%).

She was the team’s second-leading scorer (11.8 points per game), made the second-most 3-pointers (70), was the team’s second most accurate 3-point shooter (39.3%) and was second in assists (91) and third in rebounds (162).

She played an average of 20.5 minutes per game, fifth-most on the team despite not starting a game, and recorded a better than 2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio, good enough for 33rd best in the nation.

She scored in double figures 19 times, including a season-high 31 points in a 111-53 win over State Fair Community College.

Thurmon, who announced recently on Twitter that she has decommitted to playing basketball for the University of California-Riverside, led the Lady Raiders with 72 3-pointers, shot a team-best 40 percent from 3-point range, paced the squad with 35 blocks and was second with 208 rebounds, while averaging 9.3 points.

She started all 32 games and scored in double figures in 16 of them, including a season-high 18 points in a 101-65 win over Crowder College.

The Lady Raiders finished 26-6 overall, 9-1 in the region and 8-1 in conference. They shared the MCCAC and Region 16 titles with Moberly Area.
