43 Raiders make Spring Dean’s List

Three Rivers softball finished the spring semester with a 3.51 team GPA for the year and a 3.55 for the spring, including 10 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Academic All-Americans as 43 Three Rivers student-athletes finished with a 3.5 GPA or higher. “Just had a good academic bunch. It wasn’t anything special that I did,” Three Rivers softball coach Jeff Null said. “It makes it easy on the coach if they can play ball and their smart.” Lexi Campbell, Calli Gerber, Morgan Shockley, Gracie Thomas and Bridgette Swinford all earned perfect 4.0 GPAs. Anna Besand, Saje Kurpiela, Fayth Rakes, Emilie O’Dell and Sydney Walker also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. “There’s a reason those people are successful. They put in their work, and they take care of business. It means we are getting the right type of kids,” Null said.

The rodeo team had a team GPA of 3.27, and 10 members made the Dean’s List, including five with a 4.0 GPA. Leah Jackson, Harley Staggs, Larrya Stegall, Rylee Gannon and Kolby Krieger all earned a perfect GPA. Zane Pozen and Trevor Zerrusen got a 3.8, Dick Wente had a 3.7, Brennan Keifer finished with a 3.6 and Ciera Hamilton had a 3.5.

Three Rivers baseball finished with a team GPA of 3.24 with 23 of the 34 players on the team earning a 3.0 or better, and 12 players earning a 3.5 or better. Sam Pierce, Kolten Poorman and Noah Stone earned a 4.0 while Austin Brock, Chad Donze, Kieran Hall, Tate Vestal, Noah Richard and Andrew Lara all had at least a 3.5. “Anytime you can have 23 out of 34 guys make a 3.0 or better in the spring semester, that’s pretty good,” Three Rivers baseball coach Tyler Smith said. “Taking care of things in the classroom is our No. 1 goal. You get good kids who do what they’re supposed to do off the field, they’ll do what they need to do on the field.”

Five cheerleaders also made the Dean’s List. Twin sisters Lahna Robertson and Johna Robertson earned a 4.0 GPA while Montanna Clemons, Blair Hardin and Brianna Jones earned a 3.5 GPA or higher. Three Rivers women’s basketball had a 3.212 team GPA. Jordan Little, Hannah Thurmon and Deanay Watson made the Dean’s list with nine of the 12 women on the team earning a 3.0 or better.

For men’s basketball, Lydell Geffrard, Mathias Ochai and Hayden Sprenkel made the Dean’s List and Sprenkel earned a 4.0 GPA for the Spring.
