The Raiders were hampered by the same problem again Saturday. Three Rivers College was swept by Mineral Area, losing the opener 3-2 and then the nightcap 13-12 on Saturday at Roger Pattillo Field, to also get swept in the four-game series. The Raiders (3-10, 0-8 Region XVI) out-hit Mineral Area 10-4 in the opener, but stranded nine runners. Then they stranded 11 runner in the nightcap and lost after initially coming back from a 9-0 hole. Tyler Kuhlmann (0-3) didn't allow a hit after the second inning and finished with three strikeouts, four hits and four walks against.
Mineral Area took a 3-1 lead after the second inning. Riley Hickerson singled with one out for Three Rivers in the fifth inning and William Stallings drove him in. Three Rivers, though, hit into a double play in the sixth and went three up and three down in the seventh. After giving up seven runs in the first inning and then two more in the top of the seventh, the Raiders batted around and scored five runs in the bottom of the third, and did the same for six runs in the sixth. The sixth inning spurt put the Raiders tied the game at 12-12 going into the seventh inning of the 9-inning nightcap. Mineral Area retook the lead, and the Raiders stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh. Three Rivers then hit into a double play in the eighth and stranded the tying run on first, and went three up and three down in the ninth.
