Raiders baseball outscores St. Charles

The Three Rivers baseball team was in action over the weekend as the Raiders came out on top in a high-scoring affair at St. Charles on Saturday.

The Raiders, who split the first two of a four-game series at Roger Pattillo Field on Thursday, were looking to at least split the series on the road but darkness kept them from a sweep.

A football score broke out in the opener as the Raiders won 29-19 in a five-hour game.

Three Rivers came from behind as they trailed 11-7 at the end of the fourth, but put up nine runs in the fifth to go up 16-11. St. Charles responded by adding four runs and after Three Rivers scored three in the sixth, St. Charles tied it up at 19-all going into the seventh.

The Raiders put 10 runs on the scoreboard in the seventh to put it out of reach.

Eight of Three Rivers' starting nine had at least one RBI, led by Logan McIntyre with six while Kolten Poorman and Kole Turner had four each. Nolan Self and Charlie Parker each drove in three. McIntyre and Self also hit a home run.

The Raiders scored their 29 runs on 14 hits while the St. Charles pitching staff allowed 18 walks and 18 earned runs.

The second game was suspended in the fifth inning with the Raiders up 6-2 due to darkness.

The Raiders improve to 24-20 overall and 8-5 against Region XVI opponents.

The Raiders have a roadtrip to Southwest Tennessee Community College scheduled for Tuesday before returning home to start a four-game series Thursday against State Fair.
