Raiders win at West Plains

WEST PLAINS – The Three Rivers men's basketball team won their second straight on Saturday with a 63-48 road win at Missouri State-West Plains. The Raiders have won seven of their last eight ballgames. They have also taken two out of three against the Grizzlies this season.

Kinyon Hodges led the offense for Three Rivers with 13 points while Paul Greene recorded a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Keith Kiner was also in double figures with 10 points.

Three Rivers (15-9, 5-4 XVI) got off to a good start with the score 11-4 five an a half minutes into the contest, but West Plains (9-17, 3-7 XVI) got on an 11-2 run to make it a 15-13 Grizzlies with 11:40 to go in the first half.

Fortunately for the Raiders, they regained the lead with a 6-0 run to go up 19-15 with 9:10 remaining in the first half, but West Plains was able to keep up with Three Rivers as the Raiders led 28-24 at halftime.

In the opening stages of the second half, the Raiders held onto a 37-36 lead with 12 minutes to play and went on a 14-5 run over a six minute stretch to make it a 10-point game at 51-41. From there, the Raiders were able to hold onto their comfortable lead to take the season series over West Plains.

Three Rivers will be back home on Wednesday as they'l host Moberly Area at 7 p.m.
