FULTON, Mo. — Ally Hendricks was at it again Monday. Hendricks hit a three-run home run in extra innings and Wiley Lowry held off one more lead change as Three Rivers College split with North Central Missouri, losing the opener 7-3 and winning the nightcap 13-10 in eight innings. It was Hendricks' ninth home run of the season, six behind Destiny Bolen's single-season record set last season. It was also the third straight doubleheader that Hendricks homered in. She was 3 for 4 in the nightcap with two doubles, five RBIs and four runs scored. She will jump to third alltime with one more home run, matching a trio of players with 10 in Taylor Friend (2014), Demesha Huddleston (2014) and Shaya Kinsey (2011). "She has stayed hot for us. Lately, it seems as Ally goes, we go," Three Rivers coach Jeff Null said. "There are several kids that were key in that, (Randi) Scruggs being another one." Scruggs had two hits and a run in each game. Down two runs in the top of the seventh inning, MaKayla Lamphier got a leadoff single and Hendricks doubled. Peyton Gunn singled in Lamphier and with two outs, Lowry tied the game with a single. Lowry let four runners reach base in the bottom of the seventh inning, but was aided by a pair of fielder's choices and nobody reached third base. In the eighth, Morgan Ledure and Lexi Morris singled and Courtney Slayton loaded the bases with a walk. Lamphier hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly to left, and then Hendricks drilled another shot to left, this one over the wall.
Lowry (9-7) got two more fielder's choices in the bottom of the eighth and allowed one run to score to pick up the win in relief. Lowry pitched 1 2/3 and allowed two hits and a walk with no strikeouts. "It made the bus ride home a little better," Null said. "That last inning that Wiley threw was our best pitching performance of the day." She pitched a completegame loss in the opener and allowed 15 hits and no walks with two strikeouts. "We went up there knowing we at least needed to split … and if we could get two that would put us into really good shape in the regional seeding," Null said. The Lady Raiders (18-17, 7-5 Region XVI) split up nine team hits between seven players in the opener. Scruggs was 2 for 3 with a run, two stolen bases and a double. Lowry was 2 for 4 with an RBI. Three Rivers stranded 10 batters, including six in scoring position. It left the bases loaded in the third after a groundout to short. North Central (21-13, 11-7 XVI) scored in every inning after the first and had at least five batters step up to the pla te in each frame.
