BOONVILLE, Miss. — Three Rivers College softball went 1-4 in its opening set of games Friday and Saturday. The Raiders beat Spoon River 5-4 in 8 innings. Lost to John A. Logan 10-3, to Lincoln Trail 7-3, to North East Mississippi 6-2, and to Southwest Tennessee 3-1. Wiley Lowry pitched all 8 innings and got the win against Spoon River. Makayla Lamphier had three RBIs for the Lady Raiders and scored, as well against Lincoln Trail. Carleigh Burnett took the loss after pitching two innings and giving up fi ve runs with fi ve walks and a strikeout. Maci Coleman started and took the loss after giving up six runs in two innings with one strikeout against Northeast Mississippi.
Three Rivers' trio of pitchers, Coleman, Kiley Hart and Burnett, did not walk a single batter and each struck out one. Hart didn't allow a baserunner over her three innings in relief and Burnett allowed one hit in the sixth. Morgan Ledure and Lamphier scored for the Lady Raiders in the top of the third inning. Three Rivers fi nished with six hits. Lexi Morris had two hits and two RBIs. Kira Cunningham also had two hits. Randi Scruggs scored Three Rivers' sole run against Southwest Tennessee. The leadoff hitter was 3 for 4 at the plate and scored in the fi rst inning after a single, and an RBI groundout by Morris. Lowry pitched all 7 innings in the loss and allowed eight hits with two strikeouts.
