Lady Raiders fall to Crowder

The Three Rivers softball team hosted region-leading Crowder and were swept in a doubleheader Friday, 3-2 and 9-1.

The Raiders (31-11) finish the regular season 11-7 in Region XVI play.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first inning of the opener, Three Rivers got on the board in the second with Abby Wilson stealing home before Ann-Marie Simpson tied it with an RBI single in the third.

The game remained tied until the top of the seventh when Crowder pulled ahead and the Raiders were unable to respond.

Alysson Marcum tossed all seven innings for the Raiders and recorded seven strikeouts.

In the second game, Crowder set the tone early with four runs in the first and didn't look back.

Three Rivers didn't respond until the fifth with Simpson hitting an RBI single, but by then the Raiders were trailing 8-1.

The Raiders will start the Region XVI Tournament at St. Charles starting Thursday.
