MOBERLY, Mo. — The Raiders spent all Saturday trying to chase down the Greyhounds. Moberly Area Community College sank six of their eight 3s in the first 5 minutes and never trailed as it beat Three Rivers College 88-77 on Saturday night. Delfincko Bogan buried four of those 3s to race out of the gates with a 13-point lead after 5 minutes of play. Three Rivers got as close as four points late in the first half, but never led. "We tried to match him up and the guy we put on (Bogan) just didn't guard him," Three Rivers coach Gene Bess said. The Charleston alum is averaging 12 points and two 3-pointers a game in his sophomore season, second on the team in both categories.

"We had a great scouting report and then went out there and didn't guard Bogan," Bess said to KOEA radio after the game. "I think our kids were a little bit intimidated early because were knew they were an up tempo, fast breaking team." Bogan finished with 20 points. Marqywell Jackson came off the bench and got 24 points to lead the Greyhounds after going 8 for 8 at the free-throw line. Three Rivers (15-5, 1-2 Region XVI) got back within 10 points for the first time midway through the first half. After some back-andforth scoring,

Mamadou Diakhaby's free throw brought the Raiders within six and he then drew a charge at the other end. With under 4 minutes to play, Grant buried a corner 3 just before the shot clock buzzer that made it a fivepoint game. Moberly Area (18-0, 1-0 Region XVI), though, rebuilt the lead to 14 points at halftime. Three Rivers cut it to 10 with 12 minutes remaining on a three-point play by Terrence Parker, which also put Moberly Area in the bonus. The Raiders got a steal a minute later and Sadaeys Miller was fouled on the fastbreak. He made the second free throw to get Three Rivers back within 10 points for the first time in the second half, but the Raiders didn't threaten the Greyhounds' lead.

"Going into this season I felt pretty good, but we just haven't made the progress that I had hoped, but there is still a lot of time," Bess said. "It's just one of those situations where we haven't found a good combination." Camron Reedus led the Raiders with 25 points after getting 16 in the first half. He was 4 for 11 on 3-pointers and added four assists and three rebounds Gabe Grant got 21 points. He and Reedus were both 8 for 18 from the field. Grant got six rebounds. "I thought Camron came to play. I thought he played about as good as he could play," Bess said to KOEA. "I thought (Diakhaby) did a nice job in spots and I thought Terrence was starting to come into his own. "Overall, we're just not playing at a high level." Parker had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Diakhaby got nine points off the bench on 3 for 4 shooting and grabbed four rebounds before fouling out.
