Raiders hold off Moberly

MOBERLY – It came down to the wire, but Three Rivers were able to keep up their winning ways as they took "revenge week" on the road and came away with a 61-57 win over Moberly Area.

Going into the game, Moberly Area had won seven of their last eight, but the Raiders have been red hot as of late extending their winning streak to four games. In their last meeting at the Libla Family Sports Complex back on Dec. 4, Moberly took a 65-59 win over the Raiders.

Lamar Wilkerson was dialed in as he dropped 27 points for the game including a pair of clutch 3-point buckets down the stretch. Keith Kiner was also in double figures with 11 points and Paul Greene was one point shy of a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Greyhounds (16-6, 3-3 XVI) kept it close at the start as the Raiders (12-8, 3-3 XVI) led 12-7 through the first 10 and a half minutes of play and the game was eventually tied up at 18 with less than six minutes until halftime.

However Three Rivers was able to close the half with a 9-5 run to go into the locker room up 27-23.

The Raiders were able to hold their lead through the first 10 minutes of the second half up 41-37, but the Greyhounds rattled off an 8-3 run to take a 45-44 lead with 6:31 to play in the game.

Both teams traded the lead until Wilkerson drained a 3-pointer with 1:29 on the clock to give his guys a 55-54 lead and drained another shot from beyond the arc to make it a two-possession game with less than a minute left.

From there, the Raiders were able to hold off Moberly to secure the win.

Three Rivers will be back home on Saturday for Hall of Fame Night as they'll take on State Fair at 7 p.m.
