The Raiders dropped their third straight contest with a hard-fought, 64-60 defeat against Southwestern Illinois 64-60 in St. Louis on Sunday. Three Rivers (5-7), led 30-28 at halftime while the Blue Storm shot 50 percent from the field in the second half to win. Leading the way for the Raiders were Jordan Hamilton (21 points) and Lamont Jackson (10 points) while Hosana Kitenge (eight points, eight rebounds) and Mo Niang (seven points) also chipped in.
"Jordan had a really good first half – he might have had 16 points at halftime – and they made some adjustments on him and we had a lot of other guys not step up and pick up the slack," Three Rivers head coach Brian Bess said. "They got really physical with us and we didn't handle it really well." The Raiders open Region XVI play 7 p.m. Wednesday against State Fair CC at home.
