DeNayia Holmes sank four straight free throws late and the Lady Raiders held on before Wallace State (Ala.) sank an inconsequential 3 at the buzzer. "We made plays, we made stops and a pretty good overall team effort and beat a pretty good team," Three Rivers coach Jeff Walk said. "The kids came back, they were upbeat and ready to get started, which is always a good thing."
Three Rivers pressed nearly the entire game, which was back and forth throughout and didn't feature a double-digit lead. The Lady Raiders have now won 11 in a row going back to Nov. 12. Their two losses were both by three points to Wabash Valley. Three Rivers did not earn any votes in the latest NJCAA poll, which was released Dec. 20.
