Lady Raiders guard honored by Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame

Chaylea Mosby, a guard on the Three Rivers College Women’s Basketball Team, has been chosen to have her jersey included in the Ring of Honor display at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in Knoxville, Tenn., in recognition of her outstanding play for the 2020-2021 season.

The Ring of Honor displays the jerseys of about 100 of the nation’s top high school and college players, said Josh Sullivan, Director of Basketball Operations and Technology for the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. “To have your jersey on display at the Hall of Fame is a huge privilege that celebrates the accomplishments of these young athletes,” he said. Mosby’s #35 jersey should be in the display by mid-July through the end of May 2022.

“This is an amazing accomplishment and great recognition for Chaylea and for Three Rivers,” said TRC Women’s Basketball Coach Alex Wiggs.

Mosby, a Dexter native, had an outstanding 2020-21 season with the Lady Raiders, which reached the final four of the National Junior College Athletic Association tournament for the first time in program history after an undefeated regular season. The team tied for third in the final national rankings with an overall record of 24-1.

Mosby was selected to the first team NJCAA All-American, named first-team All-Region XVI and MCCAC All-Conference, and was chosen as Region XVI Player of the Year. She made 72 3-pointers this season to finish fifth in the country and had two double-doubles. She averaged 13.6 points per game on the season, while averaging 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.7 steals per game for the 2020-2021 season.
