HILLSBORO, Mo. — The Three Rivers Lady Raiders used a strong second quarter and strong finish to the third to pull out a 91-65 win Saturday over the Jefferson Vikings in women's basketball action.
Three Rivers (21-4) led just 18-17 after the opening period, but outscored the host Vikings 23-10 in the second period to take a 41-27 lead to the locker room.
It was a 52-41 Lady Raider lead midway through the third quarter, but Three Rivers closed the quarter on a 15-7 spurt to lead 67-48 going to the fourth.
The Lady Raiders continued to open their lead in the final period, leading by more than 30 points at one time before settling for the 26-point win.
As a team, Three Rivers shot 42% from the field on the day (28-for-67) and sank 74% of its free throws (29-for-39) and outrebounding the Vikings 43-35.
Alexia Weaver led the Lady Raiders with 15 points, while Kamille Brown added 14, Mya Davidson had 13, Bramyia Johnson contributed 12 and Kaleigh Thompson finished with 10. All but Weaver and Thompson came off the bench, as the Lady Raider bench outscored Jefferson 52-24.
Three Rivers is back on the road Wednesday at Neosho for a Region 16 contest against Crowder. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
